Bicyclist Cited After Crashing Into SUV in East Arlington
The bicyclist said her large furry hood obstructed her view.

A female bicyclist was cited Tuesday evening after crashing into an SUV at the intersection of Varnum Street and Mass. Ave. in East Arlington.
According to police, the bicyclist was riding on Varnum Street and proceeded onto Mass. Ave., without stopping at the stop sign, when she struck the SUV at about 7 p.m. She told police that she did not see the SUV, as she was wearing a large furry hood and a scarf that obstructed her view.
The woman, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a Cambridge hospital with side/rib pain. Police cited her for a general bicycle violation, under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 85, Section 11B.
