The American Red Cross hosted a community blood drive this afternoon at Arlington High School. The organization's mascot - a giant red blood drop - greeted donors and ushered them inside the gym. A dozen local volunteers helped to provide snacks and support for donors.
Organizer Mary Coulter said the need for blood is "high and constant." The American Red Cross will host two more drives this fall in Arlington: on September 30 at Town Hall and November 23 at the Arlington Masons.
