Arlington Public Schools received a grant to support free Youth Mental Health First Aid training for any adult (18+) interested in learning how to better support youth mental health. Youth Mental Health First Aid is an evidence- and skills-based training for adults who frequently interact with youth. Training provides the tools to recognize signs and symptoms of common mental health and substance use challenges in adolescents, the language and skills to talk to youth about suicide, and how to connect youth to care. Training will be held in the School Committee Room in the Arlington Public Schools District Offices (14 Mill Brook Drive, Arlington, MA 02476) on Tuesday, June 3 (12-3:30pm) and Tuesday, June 10 (12-3:30pm). To be fully certified, participants are required to attend both sessions.
