We are honored to welcome back R. Galvan and Magda León for another performance in their Storytime series. Join us this Saturday April 25 from 4-6 pm for Storytime: Practiced Lives.
Galvan and León first performed Storytime in 2025 as a part of our exhibition Transition of Power: 2025. That performance, called Removable Lives, involved Galvan and León recreating the experience of an unaccompanied minor being interrogated by US passport control.
In the latest incarnation of this project, Practiced Lives, two artists, one as a child and one as a parent, present unrelated characters and animate an exchange inside the gallery. The child will speak to the parent about current events and other stories, while the parent prepares a meal and cleans the space.
There will be a reception with refreshments before the performance begins around 4:20 pm, with time for questions for the artists afterwards. Seating is very limited, so please be prepared to stand for the duration of the event.
