On Sunday,&nbsp;July 5, 12:30-2PM, the <a href="https://artsarlington.org/TinyShed" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Tiny Shed Arts &amp; Discovery Series</a> continues with a novel, genre-blending match-up, as internationally touring guitarist and composer <a href="https://www.nathanielbraddock.com/about" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Nathaniel Braddock</a> joins up in a collaboration with poet <a href="https://www.stevencramer.com/about/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Steven Cramer</a>.
Musician, composer, and educator&nbsp;Nathaniel Braddock performs solo acoustic fingerstyle guitar music, and leads the Boston-based groups&nbsp;Maison Électronique&nbsp;and&nbsp;Done Gone. He has performed at the Montreal Jazz Festival, Music Meeting Nijmegen, Pitchfork Festival, the Whitney Biennial, Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, and many other venues. He has traveled extensively in Africa and collaborated with musicians from Ghana, Uganda, DR Congo, Mali, Zambia, Tanzania, Mocambique, and Guinea, including Jupiter et Okwess, Balla Kouyate, and Koo Nimo. Nathaniel is presently completing a dissertation on Central African guitar music. He teaches as Boston University, Northeastern, and Salem State.
Cramer is the author of seven poetry collections, has earned honors from Massachusetts Cultural Council and National Endowment for the Arts, and has taught Bennington College, Boston University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Tufts University, and Lesley University, where he founded the Low-Residency MFA Program in Creative Writing.
About the Arlington Tiny Shed Arts Series
The <a href="https://artsarlington.org/TinyShed" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Tiny Shed Arts &amp; Discovery Series</a> brings live music, pop-up arts and crafts workshops, art exhibits, and more to the heart of Arlington every weekend from May to October. The series includes a performance by a local band every Sunday afternoon from 12:30 to 2 pm.
The Tiny Shed Series is hosted at the Arlington Visitor Center, located next to Uncle Sam Plaza in Arlington Center, by the Minute Bikeway at the intersection of Mass Ave and Mystic Street. The Visitor Center is open every Saturday and Sunday for the May to October season.
A collaboration of the Arlington Tourism &amp; Economic Development Committee and ArtsArlington, The Tiny Shed Series is supported by the Mass Cultural Council and Mirak Properties. May events are in partnership with Freedom’s Way National Heritage Area during the <a href="https://freedomsway.org/HTF" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Hidden Treasures Festival of Nature, Culture &amp; History</a>.

The faithful replicas of Ezekiel Russell’s 1776 Declaration were faithfully hand-printed by Gary Gregory using 18th cent. techniques in a project coordinated by Rev250 and will be sent to all 351 communities in Massachusetts.

What happens in a True Story Theater performance? Our events bring together the delight of improvisation with the courageous vulnerability of people sharing their personal truth.
The show’s emcee (called “the conductor”) facilitates brief, spontaneous conversations with volunteers from the audience who share their own feelings and experiences related to the show’s theme. After each conversation, the actors and musician immediately embody the key feelings and actions they heard, using movement, music, dialogue, and superb listening. All of it is improvised on the spot.&nbsp;
From this simple interaction, audience members feel validated, laugh, cry, get insights about their lives, and feel an expanded sense of community. You can share a moment from your life and see it performed, or just come to watch.

ARLINGTON, Mass. — Arlington author Michael M. Brownstein will celebrate the publication of his debut book, Paperbacks &amp; Baguettes: Stories Between Us, with a launch event on Thursday, July 16, 2026, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at Maxima Gift &amp; Book Center and Maxima Hive, 212 Massachusetts Avenue in Arlington.
Drawing on Brownstein’s years managing a bookstore café, Paperbacks &amp; Baguettes: Stories Between Us is a novella-in-flash about the quiet ways books, familiar places, and everyday encounters become meaningful. Told through interconnected scenes, it follows the staff, customers, and regulars of a bookstore café as ordinary moments gradually come to matter.
The evening will feature a conversation with the author, a short reading, audience questions, and a book signing. Light refreshments will be served.
“We’re so pleased to welcome Michael to Maxima Hive and celebrate the launch of Paperbacks &amp; Baguettes here in Arlington,” said Jelena Babic, co-owner of Maxima Gift &amp; Book Center and Maxima Hive. “Maxima Hive is more than an event space—it’s a community hub where people of all ages come together to learn, create, connect, and celebrate. Whether through books, workshops, music, wellness, or local events, our goal is to strengthen our community by creating meaningful experiences that bring people together.”

The event is free and open to the public. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.
