Art on the Green Returns to Arlington’s Town Day

Town Day, Arlington’s annual family-friendly festival held in the town’s center, once again celebrates Art on the Green.

On Sat., Sept. 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (time differs slightly from Arlington’s Town Day), the Dallin Art Museum hosts Art on the Green, a fun and free event, in Whittemore Park, located in front of the museum at 611 Mass. Ave., Arlington. Free parking is available in the municipal lot behind the museum.

An always-popular event, Art on the Green features the work of talented local artists, live music, free museum tours, two fabulous raffle baskets, and family art hunts! Shop for unique and creative items, including prints, collages, textiles, jewelry, pottery, homemade soaps, etc.

Artists on Display

Come see the following artists, who offer painting, prints, textiles, jewelry and more:

  • Laurie Bogdan – mixed media collage featuring birds, owls, and maps
  • Maggie Furtak – unique functional ceramics
  • Nina Lapchyk – hand painted textiles and jewelry
  • Kim Nagy and John Harrison – nature and wildlife greeting cards
  • Felix Negrete – stone and wood artwork
  • Helen Ray – handmade soaps and treats
  • Fern Remedi-Brown – Indigenous handicrafts benefitting Sowing Opportunities
  • Ginny Remedi Designs – handmade jewelry
  • Elena Rose – handwoven textiles
  • Janet Steele – handmade jewelry and purses
  • Nancy White – art photography cards

Music Entertainment

From 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., enjoy a lively performance of classical and contemporary music by the Eliot Woodwind Ensemble. Robin Henzer has been coordinating this ensemble with Art on the Green for more than 10 years.

Dallin Art Museum

The Dallin Art Museum is a hallmark to artist, educator, Indigenous rights advocate, and former Arlington resident, Cyrus Dallin. It contains the largest collection of Dallin’s art in the world, and is typically open for visits on Saturdays and Sundays, 12 to 4 pm.
