Cougars' Girls' Volleyball Team with Big Game Tonight

Today is Thursday, Nov. 8. Here are five things you need to know:

1.) While you were busy voting Tuesday, the second-seeded Arlington Catholic girls’ volleyball team was busy digging, setting and spiking its way past No. 7 O’Bryant 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the Division 2 North bracket. The Cougars, who entered postseason play 18-2, will face No. 6 Weston at 7 p.m. tonight at Arlington High School in the bracket’s semifinals.

2.) Henry Bear’s Park has two events today: Its weekly story time at 11 a.m. and its adult shopping night.

3.) Tonight’s Arlington School Committee meeting, scheduled for 6:30 p.m., has been canceled.

5.) A mixture of rain and sleet this morning should become all rain after 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are only expected to reach 39 degrees today, before things warm up over the weekend.
