Deborah Olson, Lifelong Arlington Resident, Hairdresser, Dies at 58

Olson died Tuesday, Dec. 3.

Deborah Gail (Cox) Olson, 58, of Arlington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, Dec. 3, after an illness.

Beloved husband of Robert A. of Arlington, loving mother of Jessica L. Rose and her husband Joseph of Milford, sister of Barbara Pasciucco, Peter Cox and Patricia Paula. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and close friends, including dear friend Barbara Sperazzo. 

A lifelong Arlington resident Debbie or Deb, as she was known by her friends, was a bright shining spirit full of humor, compassion and love. A hairdresser by profession, the relationships she developed in the salon extended into lifelong friendships that will last eternally. A caregiver by nature, Debbie cared for her parents, volunteered at Rosie’s Place and always offered love and support to family and friends. 

Debbie loved to spend time with Bob at their home at Owl’s Nest in New Hampshire and shared many happy memories with the community of friends she developed there. She loved to travel with her family, and took many trips with Bob, Jessica and her sister Barbara. A lover of animals she also leaves behind her beloved cat Callie and two grandpuppies. 

Debbie was a strong and courageous soul, and left a legacy of humor, sarcasm, adventure and love. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her and will be loved forever for her beautiful spirit. 

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Debbie’s Life on Saturday, Dec. 14, 1-5 p.m. at the Woburn Country Club, 5 Country Club Lane, Woburn, (www.fairwayscc.com).
