
The will host its annual Art on the Green! art and craft fair, on Arlington Town Day, September 15, from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. in front of the museum in Whittemore Park (corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Mystic Street). Area artists will exhibit and sell their works in front of the museum. Offerings will include: fabric art (quilts/hand-painted scarves/shawls/sweaters), exotic, contemporary, & woven jewelry in varied designs, letterpress cards & invitations, small paintings & collages, ceramics, photography, photocards, & graphic prints. Additionally, Dick Haley Booksellers will host several local authors for book signings, and the museum will be selling merchandise from its gift shop including Arlington cotton blankets, magnets, t-shirts, mugs, and posters. Free parking is available on Town Day in the municipal parking lot behind the museum.
A raffle to support the museum’s educational programming will also take place at Art on the Green. Raffle tickets are available in advance at the museum and will also be sold at the museum’s tent on Town Day. The drawing will take place at 3:30 P.M. in front of the museum. Prizes include $100 cash, an Appeal to the Great Spirit poster, and merchandise and certificates donated by local businesses and participating artists.
