Description: The loss of biological diversity, namely a reduction in the variety of life, is occurring at a rate 100 to 1000 times faster than occurred prior to humans arrival on the planet and at a pace on par with the last great extinction event of 65 million years ago when roughly half of all species were lost. This rapid loss affects human health and well-being. Dr. Bernstein explains the relationship between emerging disease patterns and declining natural biodiversity.
