Comic Art Workshop

Sharpen your pencils, shake your pens, and get your paper ready. The Robbins Library is partnering with the Arlington Center for the Arts to bring teens a two part comic art workshop taught by local artist, Chris Legare. Teens will learn the basics writing and drawing comics, and will be able to create and draw distinctive characters and develop a visual vocabulary of emotions moods and backgrounds. Teens have the option to illustrate scenes from the Town Read, Marcelo in the Real World, or work on their own original artwork. All teens are welcome. This is a free event, but teens must attend both sessions (due to the animation component - it's a bit time intensive, so students will need both sessions to complete the project) Session I is on Nov. 13 (Conference Room), and Session II (Community Room) is on Nov. 20th. Workshop begins at 1:30 PM. Sign up online or call 781.316.3226.
