Family-Run Arlington Business Closing After 40+ Years

A sale of the Summer Street building is reportedly in the works.

ARLINGTON, MA – A family-run auto parts store in Arlington will close this fall after 42 years. NAPA Auto Parts, which first opened in 1976 and moved to its current spot at 108 Summer St. in 1992, is expected to shut down the week of Oct. 15, according to YourArlington.

A member of the Xenos family, who runs the shop, told YourArlington the business is just no longer there. He cited the decline of "gear head" culture and the closure of many gas stations and local dealerships that made up NAPA's clientele.

NAPA is currently having a closing sale, and an offer to buy the building is expected to go through soon. Regular hours are 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday.
