School of Fashion Design

Celebrating over 90 years of excellence in fashion education, The School of Fashion Design is the only educational institution in New England dedicated exclusively to the study of fashion design. SFD provides students with a solid foundation in apparel design and construction, and the skills required for a successful career in fashion. Our technical Certificate program is taught by experts in the field of fashion design. Students may take courses toward the Certificate or on a class-by-class basis to fill professional education interests. For creatives and textile arts enthusiasts, SFD offers workshops in various fiber arts such as weaving, lace making, embroidery, millinery, upcycling, and more. As an SFD student, you will join a diverse community of emerging designers. Our studios are filled with recent high school graduates, students from nearby colleges enriching their education with fashion, and working professionals embarking on a new career path. SFD faculty and students are active partners in our local community, collaborating regularly with organizations and businesses through internships, exhibitions, field trips, and special events. Our reputation for excellence is on display each time our students show their work at fashion shows and exhibits throughout the year. With an SFD Certificate in Fashion Design, our alumni have enjoyed fashion careers with Adidas, Coldwater Creek, J. Jill, New Balance, PUMA, Ralph Lauren, Talbots, Timberland, TJX Companies, and more. Our alumni are designers and costumers for stage and screen, while others have found success launching their own label. Our varied class levels and flexible schedules are designed to meet the needs and profiles of all students. Noah Jampol, of Waban, won the race, which is meant to raise awareness and support for the Council on Aging. He completed the 3.1-mile course in 17 minutes, 23 seconds. Burlington's Rachel Shanley was the top female finisher in 18:51. Arlington residents young and old came out for the community event, which featured music and entertainment. Jeanne Tift ran with her students from the Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School, and the Boy Scouts of Troop 306 also raced the course. Maureen Jackson, second among females in the 60-69 age group, ran with her daughter and granddaughter. The trio ran 39:42. The Improbable Beasts bass clarinet ensemble, with special guests Meryl Summers(bassoon) and Solon Gordon (piano) present “We Rise,” a program of music about coming together in the midst of adversity, and rising up in community.
Beasts director Jonathan Russell will be joined by pianist Solon Gordon and bassoonist Meryl Summers in his compositional response to the dislocations and disruptions of our current moment called “We Reflect, We Grieve, We Rise.” 
After this, the Beasts present two more of Russell’s original compositions and close with a rousing rendition of the African American Spiritual and protest song “Down by the Riverside.” 
Come join the Beasts for a memorable afternoon of moving and rousing music.

Driver is for providing reliable and courteous transportation to individuals with safety a top priority; provide a communication link between individuals and staff; operate and maintain assigned vehicles; and to maintain vehicle and individual's records.&nbsp; Looking for drivers to commit to a minimum of 10 hours a week.&nbsp; Sign on bonus for those who work 20 hours a week or more only.

AM 6:30am - 10am
PM 2:30pm - 5:30pm
Compensation:
$21.00 per hour
Prefer that candidate works a minimum of 10 hours per week. 
Sign On Bonus for those who work 20 hours or more per week.

<li>Operate and maintain transportation vehicles with a focus on safety and consumer courtesy.</li>
</ul>

<li>Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Perform minor maintenance tasks on the vehicles, when necessary.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Fuel the vehicles, as assigned.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Maintain accurate, up to date records on trip sheets, consumer transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Assist individuals in and out of the vehicle ensuring that all required safety equipment is utilized in the process of transporting consumers. This will include, but may not be limited to, operating ramps, lifts, and utilizing securement devices, as needed.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Read and interpret maps and driving directions to take the most efficient route. and read and interpret road signs in English.</li>
</ul>

<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>
