How can we help boys and girls deconstruct the many disempowering/stereotyped marketing and media messages that bombard them every day?

On Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 7:00pm, Lesley Ellis School Parent Education Series presents “Raising Healthy Boys & Girls in Today’s Marketing & Media Culture” with Lori Day M.Ed., Ed.S.This workshop is designed for parents of children in elementary and middle school grades, and will be held at Lesley Ellis School, 41 Foster Street, Arlington, MA.

Join Lori Day for an exciting discussion on some of the biggest challenges facing our kids today: the effects of media on children, marketing in today’s culture, gender stereotypes, beauty and body image issues for boys and girls, encouraging healthy relationships between boys and girls and pushing back on a culture that encourages kids to grow up too fast. And, why this is so important to parents and teachers as they help children develop a deeper understanding of media literacy and how it can affect their every day lives.

Each year, the Lesley Ellis School Parent Education Series brings engaging speakers and lively topics to parents and educators in the community. Please, bring a friend and join us!
