Letter to the Editor from the Republican Town Committee

Chairman thanks town for support this election season.

Letter to the Editor:

Thank you to the thousands of Arlingtonians who came out to support Republican candidates last week. It was wonderful to see so many supporters from all different parties and many walks of life supporting Republican candidates by making phone calls, holding signs outside polls, or simply flashing a thumbs sign as they drove by to cast their ballot papers.

As a result, Arlington Republicans had their highest vote totals in almost a decade, and state-wide Republicans doubled their numbers in the State House of Representatives.

Now, unfortunately, many of the local and state races on Tuesday did not go our party's way. We are happy to congratulate the town's Democrats on their victory and a hard fought race, which they won fair and square. Now that this election season is over, the time has come to move on from partisan bickering and politicking to governing in the best interests of the people. The town's

Republicans hope that we can work together to find common ground and improve our community. Together we can change from the petty name calling and Punch and Judy politics that all too often infiltrate our political discourse. Instead let's have a real exchange of ideas and a strong debate of the issues that are worthy of the town of Arlington.

Jim Dolan
Chairman
Arlington Republican Town Committee
