A group of local kids helped Arlington’s animal control officer rescue an injured swan Wednesday at Spy Pond.
One of the kids called police after spotting the injured swan and then the kids, along with some kayakers, helped lure the swan with food to the animal control officer, according to Arlington Police.

The swan had a fish hook in one of its legs and the fishing line from the hook was wrapped around one of its wings. The swan had also swallowed the fishing line and would’ve died had it not been rescued, police said.
The swan received surgery at Mill Brook Animal Clinic in Arlington and was released back into the wild.
