Mother Struck in Mass. Ave. Crosswalk

The mother was crossing Mass. Ave. with her children Wednesday evening, but her children were not hit by the car.

A mother was crossing Mass. Ave. with her children at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the crosswalk at Quincy Street, in front of Jimmy’s Steer House, when she was struck by a car.

The mother and her children fell to the ground – however, only the mother was hit by the car, according to police. She complained of a head injury at the scene and was transported to a local hospital with her children, who were not injured.

The driver told police she was driving “slowly” and did not see the mother and her children until it was too late. She said she slammed on her brakes but the wet weather caused her car to skid forward.
