New Online Portal Lets Arlington Residents Track Water Usage
Customers looking to create an account should have their most recent water and sewer bill available.
ARLINGTON, MA — The town has launched a new online water usage portal that will allow residents and businesses to monitor their water use and set custom alerts.
The new Water Usage Customer Portal is available to Arlington Water and Sewer customers. The tool allows customers to view their water usage by year, month, day, or hour and compare usage with weather and rainfall information in one chart.
The launch comes as Arlington continues replacing water meters and updating its meter-reading technology, a process that began in 2022. According to the town, maintaining water meters is critical to ensuring each customer is billed fairly for the water and sewer services they use. Water Division staff have completed more than 9,000 meter installations and 12,300 meter-reading device installations to date.

“These upgrades are an important investment in our community, giving residents better tools to monitor their water use,” Town Manager Jim Feeney said. “I want to thank our Department of Public Works and the Water Division staff for their dedication to this project.”
The portal also allows customers to set high-usage alarms to monitor daily, multi-day, or billing cycle water use. The alerts are meant to help identify unusual water flow from issues such as a running toilet or burst pipe, allowing customers to address plumbing problems and potentially avoid an unexpectedly high bill.

Customers can also set vacation alarms to receive an email if their meter records more water use than expected while they are away. The portal allows users to designate another person to receive alerts and includes links to the town treasurer’s webpage to pay water and sewer bills.
“From working with vendors on new technology to coordinating installations, I want to thank the Water Division for their extraordinary efforts performing over 9,000 meter and 12,300 meter-reading device installations to date,” Director of Public Works Michael Rademacher said.
Customers looking to create an account should have their most recent water and sewer bill available. Users will need to provide an email address and verify it through a link sent by the portal before entering a password, their nine-digit account number, and the first line of their customer name exactly as it appears on their bill.
Residents who have trouble creating an account can contact Arlington Public Works at 781-316-3102 or 781-316-3116.
