In rankings by state and metro area, U.S. News recognized hospitals that perform best in one or more specialties, as well as hospitals that excel in multiple common procedures and conditions. In addition to top regional honors, NSMC is also being recognized as a high-performing hospital in hip replacement, knee replacement and heart failure care.
“This honor confirms, once again, that NSMC is a premier health care provider in Massachusetts,” said Mitchell Rein, M.D., Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs at NSMC. “Each member of our team shares in this honor, and makes a daily commitment to putting patients first.”
Objective measures such as patient survival and safety data, and other measures largely determined the U.S. News and World Report rankings in most specialties.
The specialty rankings and data were produced for U.S. News by RTI International, a research organization based in Research Triangle Park, N.C.
