Obituary: Francis 'Augie' Agostino Jr., 61, Active in Arlington Hockey

Agostino was a lifelong Arlington resident. He died Monday, Oct. 20.

On Monday, Oct. 20, Frank Agostino passed away at the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington.

Francis T. Agostino Jr., “Augie,” was a lifelong Arlington resident. He was the beloved husband of Donna (Byrne) Agostino and the loving father of Beth and Keith Agostino. Also surviving are his sister Gail and his brother Tommy, and his mother-in-law Phyllis T. Byrne. Frank was predeceased by his dear parents Francis T. Sr. and Elizabeth “Bette” Agostino and his cherished sister Cheryl.

A gathering of relatives and friends is scheduled for Friday from 4-8 p.m. in the DeVito Funeral Home, 1145 Mass. Ave., Arlington, and a mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m in St. Agnes Church. Frank will be interred in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington.

A lifelong Arlington resident, Frank was very much involved in Arlington hockey. He was a goaltender during the reign of Arlington High School hockey. Frank was also involved in youth development, serving in various capacities with the Arlington Youth Hockey Program. He will be greatly missed.

Frank enjoyed a long career with what is now known as NStar Electric, the majority of his career he was an Inspector in the Overhead Department maintaining the power lines and tree canopy throughout New England.
