Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that occurred overnight, Tuesday to Wednesday, on Old Colony Road in Arlington’s Morningside neighborhood.
More than six shots were fired at a single-family home at 21 Old Colony Road, at the corner of Old Colony and Old Middlesex roads, according to Arlington Police Chief Frederick Ryan. Bullets hit the home’s garage and vehicles in the driveway, he said. A bedroom is behind the garage but fortunately no one was injured, he said.

An adult couple lives in the home, and the couple was home at the time of the shooting. The couple, who has lived in the neighborhood for many years, called police after the shooting, according to Ryan.
“We do not believe this was a random act of violence,” he said. “We have no reason to believe anyone in the neighborhood is at danger.”
