Police Log: A Nightime Break-in Interrupted in Progress
A nighttime burglar was surprised in action on Waverley Street and the police seek the public's help in finding him.
Aug. 1, 3 a.m.
Officers responded to a call on Waverley Street from a man who said he heard a scream from his neighbor's house. He reported that he saw an unknown white male wearing long sleeves, a dress shirt and a white baseball hat walking away from the neighbor's home. Officers went to the home and found a woman who said she had gone into her sunroom to let the dogs out and saw man standing at entry way. She screamed and he ran out the door toward Hillside Ave. It appears that she interrupted him prior to him getting anything and no altercation was reported.
Officer Conducted an extensive search of area but found no leads. The investigation is active and ongoing. "We are asking the public and anyone in the are to give a call if they see anything suspicious," said Captain Robert Bongiorno of the Arlington Police Department who reported that the department is increasing patrol units in the area.

Aug. 2, 7:30 p.m.
A woman called the police to say her ex-husband's girlfriend assaulted her. She drove her daughter to the home where she met the other woman who was described as belligerent and argumentative. The woman pushed her in the chest with both hands. No punches were thrown but much pushing and shoving ensued. The victim was seeking a criminal complaint against the 41-year-old Manchester, NH woman.
