Police Log: Drug Findings, Cab Disputes

Arlington PD keeps the peace over the weekend.

Friday, October 1

12:07 a.m.: Police responded to 84 Chandler St. after reports of drug use on the premise. Officers found a class A drug at the scene and charged the suspect with possession of class A illegal drug.

1:52 a.m.: Officers responded to 4 Mystic Bank after a 30-year-old female and a 38-year-old male got into a physical altercation. The male suspect allegedly hit the female victim on the head with tea kettle. Both parties fled the area upon and the victim sought treatment at hospital in Boston Medical Center. The incident is still under investigation.

Saturday, October 2  

12:29 a.m.: Officers responded to Ridge St. and Yerxa Rd. where a 21-year-old male had engaged in a physical dispute with an anonymous cab driver. The suspect allegedly tried to skip out on his fare, and when the cab driver confronted him, he attempted to punch him in the face. When officers arrived, the suspect apologized and paid his fare in full.

2:54 p.m.: Police arrived at 71 Lake St. when a 64-year-old cyclist collided with an oncoming car trying to cross the street. The 39-year-old motorist had just accelerated from the intersection, when the cyclist rode through a stop sign and collided with the car. The car was reportedly driving at 5 miles per hour. The cyclist was transported to Boston Medical Center for treatment. The incident was ruled the cyclist's fault for not adhering to the stop sign.
