Project To Improve Arlington Reservoir Begins
The first phase includes improving the filtration system and piping, as well as building 15-30 feet of a pilot trail.

ARLINGTON, MA — The first phase of the Arlington Reservoir improvement project began Tuesday, Sept. 3, according to town officials. This phase will include an overhaul of the filtration system inside the pump house, as well as the piping under the beach to the water. Crews will build approximately 15-30 feet of a pilot trail that will ultimately loop around the Res.
Part of the parking lot and all of the beach area will be closed through the fall, winter and into early spring. The playground – minus the swings – will be accessible through the trail opening as well as the double service gate on Lowell Street, just behind the bathhouse.
The path and trail around the Res will always remain accessible during these improvements.
