Rossini's Overtime Winner Sends AC Back to State Final
Arlington Catholic toppled Westford Academy in overtime when Adrieanna Rossini put home the winner to earn the Cougars a trip to play at TD Garden on Sunday.
Thanks to Adrieanna Rossini's heroics, the Arlington Catholic girls hockey team knows one thing. Its season will end in the same place it did last year.
While the Lady Cougars lost a 2-0 third period lead to Westford Academy in the Division 1 semifinal on Sunday at Chelmsford Forum, Rossini fired home the game-winning goal with 9:03 left in overtime to clinch a spot in the state title game at TD Garden on Sunday, March 17.
Thanks to the 3-2 win, Arlington Catholic will face a title game rematch against St. Mary's of Lynn, a team the Cougar toppled on the TD Garden ice last year, 3-1, to win the program's second state title.
