Scammers In Arlington Question Immigration Status: Police
Police are warning of a new scam in town that attacks residents' immigration status.
ARLINGTON, MA — Police issued a warning this week after residents were targeted by scammers over the phone. The callers are spoofing phone numbers such as 911, the Arlington Police Department at 781-643-1212 and the Department of Homeland Security.
The scammers allege an issue with a person's immigration status and ask for gift cards to be bought and mailed to them.
Anyone who receives one of these calls should hang up and report it to the Arlington Police Department.
