The Storefront Stories Project Celebrates the Diversity of East Arlington

Artists in celebrate the diversity of East Arlington through the diversity of its storefront businesses.

A group of artists are celebrating the diversity of East Arlington through the diversity of its storefront businesses. Over the past 6 months they have interviewed different business owners and learnt about their stories and the history of their stores. Ten of these owners will be featured in a public art project and their portraits will be posted on life-size or larger than life-size wheatpaste on the exterior of some of the buildings in Capitol Square.
The artists are asking people in the community to nominate their favorite businesses by submitting their votes online or by postcards available in most East Arlington storefronts. The artists are also planning to create a publication to document the project and honor all the nominees. http://news.acmi.tv/
