A look at a famous face from right here in Arlington!

ARLINGTON, MA—Dane Cook—the brash and daring stand-up comedian, actor, and director—grew up in Arlington and attended Arlington High School!

Cook, along with comedy superstars such as Eddie Murphy, Kevin Hart, Aziz Ansari, Russell Peters and Andrew Dice Clay, is one of six stand-up comedians to ever perform in front of a sold-out Madison Square Garden. Cook’s 2007 special entitled Rough Around the Edges, was taped in front of one of the two sold-out performances.

Cook has appeared in films such as Good Luck Chuck, Employee Of The Month, Waiting, Mr. Brooks and more. Cook’s success has not come without controversy, as many comics have accused him of stealing material, which is viewed as a death sentence in the comedic community.
