Three Arlington Brothers Place in State Poster Contest

We are pleased to announce that three brothers, all Arlington home-school students, have won MWRAʼs annual poster contest.

Jeremy Ware, grade 4, won second place in the grades 3-5 category. Sebastian Ware, grade 6, won third place in the grades 6-8 category, and Nathaniel Ware, also grade 6, won honorable mention.

This year, students from schools across MWRAʼs service area were challenged to create posters about what happens at the Deer Island Wastewater Treatment Plant or to write about the benefits of water conservation.

MWRA received more than 1,750 posters and over 1,100 writing entries. A ceremony honoring the winning students and their teachers was held at Deer Island on Friday, May 25.  More than 250 people attended the event.

The annual poster and writing contest is part of MWRAʼs School Education Program, which educates students and teachers about the public health significance of water supply and wastewater treatment. To view all the winning posters and essays, visit the MWRA’s website.
