This Caribbean adaptation of the popular fairy tale "The Little Mermaid" garnered eight Tony nominations for its Broadway run, including Best Musical, Book and Score. It tells the story of Ti Moune, a black peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. 7 p.m. Regent Theatre

Arlington Children's Theater Presents: Beauty and the Beast
Belle yearns to escape her provincial life...and her brute of a suitor, Gaston. Soon she falls in love with a most unlikely suitor. 2 p.m. Regent Theater.
The Rebel Shakespeare Company presents: Othello
"The heralded teen troupe, Rebel Shakespeare Company, will perform a family-friendly 90-minute version of Othello. Audience members are encouraged to come early, bring chairs or blankets and a picnic. The sponsors will sell desserts and beverages to supplement picnic baskets." 5 p.m. Menotomy Rocks Park.
