The Town of Arlington has conducted several playground safety checks of Town owned playgrounds. These safety checks were conducted by an outside certified playground safety inspector. To the extent that the safety inspector identifies issues that may benefit from repair or replacement to increase playground safety, it may be necessary to temporarily close impacted playgrounds or portions of playgrounds, so that the recommended repairs or replacement work can be completed by the Town of Arlington’s Department of Public Works.

The Town continues to progress through the necessary repairs and all equipment has been ordered and upon delivery will be installed at their respective sites. The Stratton School playground is in need of over $100,000 in repairs and Town and School officials are looking at cost efficient ways to provide as much play experience as possible for park users until funding can be secured for a complete playground renovation.

Our goal is to get all of the needed repairs completed as soon as we can and we apologize for any inconvenience related to temporary playground closures that may be necessary. Your patience is appreciated as we continue to work to make sure Arlington’s playgrounds are as safe as possible for all who enjoy them.
