VIDEO: Soccer Girls Tie on the Road Against Wilmington, 1-1
Arlington High School's soccer girls take on the Wilmington Wildcats.
The frigid fall night in Wilmington was reminiscent of playoff conditions. The level of play on the field between Arlington and the host Wildcats was as well.
Arlington's Rebecca Robinson powered throught a host of Wilmington defenders and still managed to find the back of the net with 24:17 to play before halftime on Thursday night. Wilmington had a second half answer and the teams settled for a 1-1 tie.
"That was a Division 1 goal," said Arlington mentor Paul Austin.

Trailing 1-0 with time running out, Wilmington sophomore forward Alex Bischoff moved the ball down the alley as she did all night and found Lauren Amazeen streaking towards goal.
The Spy Ponder net minder had attacked Bischoff thinking she'd be shooting the ball, so all Amazeen had to do was fight off an Arlington defender and one-touch the ball into the wide open net. That's exactly what she did as she evened the score with 13:52 remaining.
