"We the People" exhibit to open at ACA this Friday

The Arlington Center for the Arts is thrilled to present a special pop-up gallery exhibit – “We the People: The Art of Advocacy” – featuring 100+ activism-inspired signs, posters, photos, hats, buttons and more! On display in the Gibbs Gallery from March 10 – March 25, this timely exhibit features work from local artists & activists alike. ACA also invites you to join us for a fun & festive opening reception on Friday, March 10, from 7 – 9 PM in the Gibbs Gallery, for the chance to see and help celebrate this provocative and inspiring collection of work.
Since January 20, 2017, millions of people around the world have taken to the streets to voice their beliefs in freedom, liberty and justice for all. With great creativity, marchers have carried thoughtful, hand-made signs, hats, sandwich boards, posters, buttons, banners and more.
The Arlington Center for the Arts had an idea: what if there were a special pop-up gallery to highlight these creative, inspiring and provocative signs, posters, photos, and more, creating a vibrant portrait of what inspires our community to action?

ACA put out the call for activism-inspired work - and received a tidal wave of posters, signs, hats, buttons, illustrations, photographs, etc. in return. This exhibit, featuring over 100 works of activism-inspired art, features a wide range of voices - from local grade school and high school students to professional artists and activists alike.
On Friday, March 10, from 7 – 9 PM in the Gibbs Gallery, ACA will host an opening reception, complete with refreshments and libations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to meet and chat with many of the featured artists.
