Weed Run Goes Awry in Arlington
An 18-year-old Arlington man faces a handful of drug and automobile-related charges after an incident on Wednesday night.

What a police report says started as an errand to go pick up some marijuana ended with 18-year-old Brandon Woods getting booked on charges include driving a stolen car without a license and possession of a wee bit of cocaine.
A little after 6:30 p.m. Wednesday evening, Arlington Police responded to a car accident in the vicinity of 797 Mass. Ave. The driver of one car complained that a passing Mazda 5 had knocked off his parked car’s driver’s side mirror. After chasing down the Mazda, the suspected driver was unwilling or unable to supply any identification.
An officer interviewed the Mazda’s driver, who adamantly refused to admit that he was Brandon Woods of Massachusetts Avenue, even though the officer had interacted in the past and recognized him promptly. A check of the Mazda’s vehicle identification number showed it to be registered as stolen, and worse yet, dispatch told on-scene officers that Woods lacked a driver’s license.

As Woods was being arrested, an unidentified passenger in the Mazda told police that they were on the way back to East Arlington, having just gone out to buy some marijuana.
Curiously, no marijuana was found in the car during a search, but an an unidentified white pill suspected to be a drug was found in the center console. Later, upon Woods’ arrival at the police station, a tiny amount of white powder suspected to be cocaine was discovered folded up in a piece of paper stashed his wallet.
