What's Happening Around Town: November 22
Board of Selectmen set to meet, get your Thanksgiving Game tickets and watch out for water discoloration.
- The Board of Selectmen are set to meet tonight at at 7:15 p.m. The main order of business will be the new overnight parking laws in Town. For a full agenda see the Town's website here.
- The Redevelopment Board will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the Annex.
- celebrated its Blue Ribbon status with a ceremony this past Friday. Blue Ribbon schools must score in the top 10 percent on the MCAS and must pass a rigorous application process. Stratton was one of 254 schools to receive the honor out of the 132,000 eligible for the award.
- Tickets are still available to watch and battle it out in this year's Thanksgiving football duel. ACMi will also be broadcasting the game live and replaying it at 1 and 7 p.m.
- If you live near Forest Street or Park Circle, beware of discolored water starting today. The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority will be re-activating a pipeline as part of the Brattle Court Pump Station work. This work does not impact roadways, but residents in these areas may have discolored water for a few days as a result from a small amount of iron in the pipes. While safe for drinking, cooking, and other uses, please note that iron will stain light colored items in your laundry, especially when bleach is used. Residents should check water clarity before washing any white or lighter colored laundry during this period of time. For further questions call MWRA at 617-305-5950.
