
On Common Ground, Inc., which provides 1:1 mentoring to people experiencing poverty in the Attleboro area, is putting on a benefit Folk Festival & Fair this coming Oct. 1 at the LaSalette Shrine Fairgrounds.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. beginning with a children's segment from 11 am to 2 pm with various performers which include music with John Poricno, mime & juggling entertainment, storytelling with local favorites Marilyn Legg and Lynne Homer and a folk song-sing-a-long. From 2-10 pm there is a lineup of various folk entertainment which includes Cactus Attack, Dark & Stormy and Acousticana. Headline performer will be performing artist/songwriter Jonathan Edwards and band who will take the stage from 7:30 - 9p.m. followed by a jam session.
The day will be filled with vendors, artisans, food/drink, hands on folk acitivities and folk art demonstrations.
