Dog Abandoned Outside Attleboro Animal Shelter

Police are attempting to identify the female red Doberman pinscher's owner

ATTLEBORO, MA — A Dobermann pinscher was tied up and abandoned outside the Attleboro animal shelter, police said.

The female red Dobermann pinscher was left at the Pond Street shelter some time before 10 a.m. Thursday, the Attleboro police said in a media release.

The dog's leash was tied to a fence and it was left with a bag of dog good and a dog jacket nearby.

"The dog was found to be in good health, appeared to be well cared for, and in no apparent distress," the release said. "It is
currently in the custody of and being cared for by Attleboro Animal Control."

A shelter volunteer found the abandoned dog, according to the release.

The dog appears to be about 2 years old and was wearing a metal prong collar but no identification information and was not microchipped.

"As we continue our investigation, the Attleboro Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in
identifying the owner of the dog," the release said.
