Attleboro High School Soccer Star Scores a Spot on New England Revs U16 Team
Attleboro High School Sophomore Dominik Machado hopes his time with the Revs will lead to a shot at pro soccer.
Dominik Machado, a sophomore at is one of 25 soccer players chosen throughout New England, who have had the opportunity to play for the New England Revolution Under-16 soccer team.
The Attleboro native, who has been playing since the young age of 5, played along side players from New Hampshire, Connecticut and several cities and towns in Massachusetts last week during a U.S. Soccer Development Academy scrimmage at Gillette Stadium.
Machado hopes the skills he learns on the fields of both Attleboro High School and Gillette will better prepare him for a shot at playing professional soccer.
Both the Revs' Under-16 and Under-18 teams will resume their 2010-11 season as part of the U.S. Soccer Development Academy on Saturday, March 5 at Gillette Stadium against NJSA 04. The U-18 team currently owns a 3-2-0 record, while the U-16 team is 2-2-1, according the New England Revolution.
