Attleboro Residents Sound Off on Safety Issues
We asked Patch readers to share their biggest safety concerns in Attleboro. Here's what they'd change.

Attleboro, MA - Summer’s nearly here, and with each walk in the park, day at the pool and backyard BBQ comes the risk of snakebites, drowning and fires, but don’t worry! There’s no reason to stay cooped up inside all season.
Patch put together a list of summer safety tips to keep you safe and having fun while the weather’s warm. Make sure to give snakes their distance and always swim with a buddy to stay carefree during the dog days.
Keeping these tips in mind, there are other possible dangers that affect Attleboro residents year round.

We asked Patch readers what they thought the biggest safety issues were in their town. Here’s a list of the most pressing problems, from break-ins to traffic jams:
- "Drug addicted homeless roaming the streets and breaking into houses"
- "Speeding on side roads"
- "I second the speeding on the side roads! It's awful!"
- "Crosswalks. People don't stop!"
- "People who go around the stop signs on busses and other school vehicles. At least two a day on my street . PD doesn't seem to care!"
- "People not yielding when coming from the 95 ramp, north bound on 123! People not stopping for school busses!"
- "If you look at the police blotter online, there is rampant domestic violence in the downtown area."
- "Lack of sidewalks/crosswalks and no one slows/stops for pedestrians that have the cross signal."
- "All the texting that's going on while people are driving! No one is paying attention to the cars in front of them and one of these days there's going to be a bad accident!"
- "There needs to be a light at Rathburn Willard and 123! Trying to get the kids to and from Brennan and Studley is horrible!"
