Attleboro Student Wins Writing Contest

For his victory, Hyman Fine fourth-grader Jackson Craig receives free admission for his class to the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut and meets the man who discovered the wreck of the Titanic.

Jackson Craig, a fourth-grader at  in Attleboro won the Mystic Aquarium's Titanic Writing Contest.

Students were asked to compose a journal entry as a passenger on the vessel's maiden voyage. All entries needed to contain accurate information about the Titanic and information about the passenger's background as well as a general tone of excitement on being aboard the ship.

Jackson's piece was chosen from among 400 entries as the 3-5 grade category winner. His prize included free admission for his class to the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut as well as a May 4 meeting with Dr. Robert Ballard, who discovered the wreck of the Titanic.
