Bird's Eye View of Mallard Wins Spring Photo Contest

Michael Haynes, a native and current resident of Attleboro, is our patchy winner. Haynes submitted a photo of a mallard and beautiful white swan as his proof that spring has sprung in the 'Boro. His photo of the mallard was chosen as the winning photo.
Haynes has been taking photos as a hobby since 2007.
"Wildlife is what I enjoy taking photos of the most," Haynes said. His interest in photographing animals and landscape came from his visit to Yosemite National Park in 2007, he said.

To make his photography more official, Haynes has enlisted in an adult education photo class at . The class is being taught by local photographer Stephen Hopkins.
Haynes will receive a patchy prize that includes a free photo session, an 8 x 10 photo, digital photos and much more from our own Patch photographer, Ann McEvoy.
