Bishop Feehan Shamrocks Not So Lucky; Girls Hoops Lose Tourney
Feehan fought hard and controlled the scoreboard for three straight quarters, but ran out of steam in the end.
By the end of the first quarter it looked like of Attleboro was going to run away with its semifinal Division 2 South game against Hopkinton High School. Near the end of the first quarter, with Feehan ahead 24-11, it just seemed a matter of what the point spread would be.
But after leading for three quarters, the Shamrocks ran out of energy. Their season came to an end with a 50-43 loss to the Hopkinton Hillers.
Bishop Feehan got spectacular play from all its starters but sophomore Cara Adams seemed a step ahead of everybody. Her early shooting and free throws were easy and confident.

Sierra Schrader had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Marissa Cicchetti had several key baskets, and Alexis Sells had 14 points. Forward Kaitlin Hill had the job of taking on Hopkinton’s Lindsey Doucette and Alee Leteria who both had height advantages over the entire Feehan team.
Doucette and Leteria made the most of it with their team’s and the game’s highest point totals.

Hill, Adams and Schrader did a great job leaping over the taller Hillers. But worn-out legs hurt the Shamrocks in the fourth quarter. They had to run and try for threes and a season of wear and tear caught up to them too soon. Despite Hopkinton fourth-quarter turnovers that kept the Shamrocks in the game, the shooters couldn’t find the range.
The idea of leaping over Leteria, Doucette and Victoria Munger, Hopkinton’s other forward, seemed like it came from a different game.
Feehan’s fast beginning turned out to be terribly different from the end.
