Brennan Middle School Teacher Receives PELIE Fellowship
Caron Heller, a Brennan Middle School teacher, is heading to Philly.
teacher Caron Heller of Attleboro has packed her bags and is heading to Philadelphia to attend the International Society for Technology in Education 2011 conference.
Heller was selected by the Partnership for Effective Learning and Innovative Education (PELIE) to attend the annual conference where 20,000 education and technology leaders from 60 countries get together to collaborate and share ideas.
The Attleboro resident, who is known for her work with Attleboro's Special Olympics team, , was one of 14 fellowship winners chosen to participate in the conference. Each winner is in some way involved in part-time Jewish education.

“By providing these awards, it is PELIE’s hope that fellows will have the opportunity to learn how the use of technology can impact their work, develop communities of practice with like-minded Jewish educators and contribute to building the field of technology and Jewish education,” PELIE Information Manager Adena Raub said.
Heller will have homework once she returns to Attleboro in the form of a written essay about her experience. She is also required to teach what she learns to colleagues upon her return and will also have to participate in two webinars during the 2011-2012 school year.
