Career Fair Opens Minds at Seekonk High

Representatives from 13 career fields meet with juniors at Seekonk High School.

juniors last week on Tuesday got a chance to attend a career fair. Held in the high school cafeteria, students met with representatives from 13 career fields. Each student had an opportunity to meet with representatives from five of the 13 career tables and ask questions.

Janet Fitzgerald, the school transition coordinator, organized the event. She said she thought the day was very successful and she was happy with the turnout.

There were representatives in the cafeteria from a variety of careers, including communications and media, visual arts, law, hospitality, occupational therapy, health and medicine, science and many others. Ninety percent of the representatives were graduates of Seekonk
High, which motivated the students because they could see how many
opportunities there are after high school.

The day was a success for the students, staff and the representatives. Students were able to explore many different careers that they may have not previously considered.

A special thanks goes to Mrs. Fitzgerald from the Class of 2013 for making the day possible.
