City Honors Attleboro's Servicemen with Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony
More than 1,000 people lined the streets of Attleboro to thank area servicemen.
More than 1,000 people lined North Main and County streets in Attleboro to watch the city's annual Memorial Day parade in honor of the nation's servicemen and women.
The parade kicked off from Hodges Street with a few rain drops, but that didn't stop spectators from lining the streets and waiving their American flags to local Girl and Boy Scouts troops, the marching band, Attleboro's veterans of foreign wars and the many servicemen.
By the time the award-winning , who led the parade, reached Capron Park, the rain had stopped and the sun was shining. Local and state officials, including Attleboro Mayor Kevin Dumas, Rep. George Ross, Rep. Betty Poirier and Attleboro city councilors waved to spectators.

The ,, Friends of the Attleboro Animal Shelter and Daughters of the American Revolution all created personalized signs and floats for the occasion. The Portuguese Independent Band from Bristol, RI, traveled from the East Bay to Attleboro to walk in the annual parade.
Once the parade concluded, hundreds of people cirlced around Triangle Memorial in to bow their heads in honor of those who lost their lives in war.
