Coronavirus: 6th Bristol County Sheriff's Worker Tests Positive

The Bristol County Sheriff's Office said the Dartmouth House of Corrections officer was informed of his positive test on Monday.

MANSFIELD, MA — A sixth Bristol County Sheriff's Office staff member has tested positive for the new coronavirus. The latest positive test involves an officer who worked third shift in the control room at the Dartmouth House of Corrections.

"There have been almost 2,000 confirmed cases of the virus in Bristol County overall," Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson said. "We feel very fortunate that every staff member who has tested positive at the Sheriff's Office has either made a full recovery and returned to duty or is feeling OK and is expected to return soon."

Hodgson said the latest patient last worked on Sunday and was tested later that day.

Hodgson said there are no prisoners in the system who have tested positive for the virus. Eight who have been tested all tested negative.
