Cumberland Farms Plants the First Seeds to Support Attleboro Garden

To celebrate its grand opening, Cumberland Farms Attleboro store will donate a percentage of its drink and coffee sales to support a community garden.

Cumberland Farms is helping to plant the seeds of a new community garden by donating a percentage of its drink and coffee sales to the effort.

students, staff and parents helped area managers at Cumberland Farms celebrate the store's grand opening on Wednesday afternoon while also educating the store's staff on its community garden.

For the next month, Cumberland Farms will donate 20 cents from every Chill Zone beverage and cup of coffee sold at its store to benefit the Willett Garden Club. The store aims to raise at least $1,000 for the program, which kicked off last week with its official

“The Willett Way focuses on areas we expect will lead to well educated and responsible citizens in the future,” Willett Principal Catherine Zinni said. “Having all our students participate in the Garden Club will hopefully teach them more about responsibility and the importance of taking care of our planet.

“Being able to help these students turn their dream of a garden club into a reality, is priceless,” said Ari Haseotes, president of Cumberland Farms retail division, in a release. “It is our pleasure to be able to assist the students in buying the necessary supplies like, hoses and wheel barrels to get their garden blooming.”

Willett's Garden Club will have its own ribbon cutting ceremony during its annual Spring Fair on Saturday, May 21.
