Harold Nash, a Grade 8 student at Dayspring Christian Academy of Attleboro, was awarded “Best of Show” designation during the 2014 District Art Festival sponsored by the Association of Christian Schools International in North Stonington, Conn.
Nash’s innovative work – a self-portrait completed in paint chips – was initially deemed “Superior” and later accorded the top spot in the competition which featured works by students in Kindergarten through Grade 8 attending ACSI-affiliated schools in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut. Nash was one of 17 DCA students who entered the competition and all earned awards.
Also extended “Superior” recognition were DCA Kindergarteners Isabella Vinaco and Rheann Kalinga; third-grader Brandon Parks; fifth-graders Dariah Costa and Alana Amica; sixth-graders Julia Del Vecchio, Julie Thibodeau, Quincy Gomes-Cedono and Anitha Koka; seventh-graders William Rollinson and Maitley Mullings; and eighth-grader Nicholas Santana.

Accorded “Excellent” status were DCA fourth-grader Zoe Guzman and fifth-graders Kaziah Twumasi and Daniel Nguyen. Fourth-grader Orli Juarez secured a “Good” recognition.
All DCA participants produced works under the direction of Noa Juarez, the school’s art teacher.
