Dayspring Christian Academy Students Complete Annual Walk-A-Thon

Students in Kindergarten through Grade 7 at Dayspring Christian Academy of Attleboro participated in a Walk-A-Thon May 30 to benefit the school’s general fund.

According to Administrator Frank Rydwansky, students in grades 1 through 7 walked laps of approximately one-half mile apiece in the adjacent parking lot of the South Attleboro Assembly of God Church. Students were chaperoned by DCA faculty and staff members and most were appropriately attired in T-shirts and shorts on a cool and sunny afternoon.

Kindergarten students, also supervised by teachers, walked laps indoors in the school’s gymnasium.

Students solicited donations in advance from family members, relatives and friends based on the total number of laps walked. Grade 8 students did not participate since they had completed their classroom obligations for the year and were preparing for graduation.

According to Rydwansky, the Walk-A-Thon is an annual fundraiser at DCA and generates “a substantial amount of funds for the school.”
