Deadlines Coming Up for Many Scholarship Applications

High school seniors are in the thick of the financial aid process and looking for ways to help pay for college. The guidance department has a list of national and regional scholarships available for Seekonk High students and many have applications this month or next, so students should be sending them in now.

• Best Buy Scholarship: $1,000. Student must have good grades as well as community service or work experience. Application due by Feb. 15.
• Red Pine Scholarship: $5,000 to $20,000 annually. Student must be low to middle income with a strong academic record. Application needs to be postmarked by Feb. 21.
• National Association of Asian American Professionals of Boston Future Leaders Award: $2,000 to $3,500. Student must show academic achievement, leadership, community service, extracurricular activities and financial need. Application needs to be postmarked by Feb. 27.
• Sons of Italy: $25 to $1000. Application needs to be postmarked by March 1.
• Fall River Municipal Credit Union: Up to $500.Student must be an active member of Fall River Credit Union for at least six months. Application due March 12.
• The Rebekah Assembly of Massachusetts: $500. Requirements on application available in guidance office. Application needs to be postmarked by March 15.
• Greater Southeastern Massachusetts Labor Council: Up to $1,000. Parents, legal guardian or grandparents must be affiliated with the Greater Southeastern Mass Labor Council. Application due March 15.
• Rockland Trust: Up to $2,500. Student must be in the top 50% of their graduating class and have community service and extracurricular activities. Application needs to be postmarked by March 16.
• Right Start Scholarship: Up to $1,000. Application due Match 30.
• Stephen Phillips Memorial Scholarship: Application due by May 1.
